TRAVERSE CITY (WPBN/WGTU) -- A new ride sharing service geared towards women is coming to Traverse City.
It's founders are hoping it will prevent women from becoming the victims of sexual assault.
It's called TransportHer and it will use women drivers to primarily drive other women around.
Larry Russell, Co-Founder of TransportHer said there were many reason for starting the service, but the main reason was because of a tragedy that happened to his daughter.
"She is a victim herself of some severe sexual abuse a couple years ago," said Russel. "And she felt really moved by wanting to do something to help."
Larry russell said his kids are his reason for living and after what happened to his daughter he felt helpless.
